A social media mention got French Montana in his feelings the other day. Apparently, French replied to a female Tweeter by referring to her braids as nappy. Black Twitter caught wind of it and proved once again they have their priorities wrong.
For whatever reason @artdecoxxx had the Moroccan international man of leisure on her mind and pondered via Twitter, “The fact that French Montana thinks anyone cares about him.. 😫”.
Apparently, this made it to Frenchie’s timeline and the rapper barked back with a jarring reply: “U musty crusty dusty rusty ass hoe With them nappy ass poetic justice braids take your cum drinking Dick banging ass somewhere n be humble🙏”.
This became a thing and women throughout social media started banging on Montana to the point where he was forced to make a public apology.
Considering misogyny is so widespread in Rap music, I am befuddled on why the nappy hair slander became such a hot topic? Shouldn’t we be more concerned that females are largely disrespected as hoes and bitches on record and positioned as nothing more as sexual objects of conquest in videos? Or that French might have a thing for dating White women who appropriate Black culture (see Iggy Izalea, Khloe Kardashian)?
Interestingly enough, he called into The Breakfast Club to explain his stance.
In the brief five minute interview French stated “I ain’t know ‘nappy’ was a racist word.” I guess we all know now.
